Legal officers trained on privatization
The Ministry of Justice (Minijust) in collaboration with the Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) has trained at least 30 government Legal officers on Privatization procedures.
The rationale of the training was to enable the trainees understand the nature and effect of privatization
The trainees acquired skills on the forms of contracts and means which may be used in privatization and be able to select the appropriate conditions of agreements.
They acquired knowledge on how to draft a privatization agreement and how to negotiate and complete a privatization contract with a client.
The Permanent Secretary and Solicitor General, Isabelle Kalihangabo presided over the closing ceremony which took place at ILPD School in Nyanza, this late July 2014.
Kalihangabo reminded the trainees that all institutions are required for seek legal opinion from the Minijust before any contract is signed in Rwanda.
She emphasized the importance of attending trainings and the role of legal officers in their respective institutions.
