RWANDA : POLICE ARESTS TWO MEN OVER ILLICIT DRUGS

RWANDA | POLICE ARESTS TWONyarugenge district police has this Thursday, June 14th 2012 arrested two men in possession of 10 kilograms of cannabis on its way to Kigali.

 

According to police sources, the arrested were caught at Gitikiyoni checkpoint having drugs in small bugs tied on their bodies.

 

The suspects, David Gashugi aged 21 and Alfred Niyitegeka 25 is currently detained at Mageragere police station.
The suspects said that the drugs were from Goma and Ruhengeri. Police are continuing investigations while hunting for suppliers.

 

Superintendent Theos Badege, spokesman for the National police, warned those involved in the drug business saying that whoever tries to get involved have no chance because the police, local authorities and the public are committed to eradicate drugs in the country.
He urged all those involved in this kind of business to stop without waiting to be trapped.
